One of the best 4-way formation teams in the world recently published the CD, "Arizona Airspeed Mind Maps 2003". With Mind Maps, the US team "Arizona Airspeed" demonstrates their continuity plan for formations and blocks from the Dive Pool. The programmers used outstanding animations and video clips to show in a very vivid way how the team builds randoms, inters, blocks and mirrors.
You can chose from 16 randoms and 22 blocks, and with the help of the new Tracer Technology view the path you need to follow for each exit and block - including 3D transitions. The specific video clips can also be viewed at normal speed and slow motion. The jumpers in the animations are color coded, which makes it very easy to follow the keys and path through each formation and transition. You can even fly as a virtual videographer around formations to view them from every angle.
Mind Maps' user interface is intuitive and includes a page with tips that help you to get started. The CD was created in the HTML format and uses QuickTime Virtual Reality (QTVR). Mind Maps runs with every operating system and can be started with a standard Internet browser. To play the animations and videos, the Quicktime Player is needed and, conveniently, the latest version can be found on the CD.
All in all, Mind Maps is a great help and an excellent training tool for formation skydivers of all levels.
