Klaus Heller started skydiving in 1974 and was one of the first
professional freefall cinematographers in Europe. He has filmed quite a few
TV-spots and feature film sequences. AIRDONE ONE was produced during a
period of 15 years on dropzones all over Europe and gives a good impression of
skydiving. Famed Austrian film-musician Stefan Melbinger has composed and
played the music exactly fitting the scenes.
Contents: Exits from
helicopters, CASAs, Cessnas, Pilatus Porters, Do-27s and bi-planes, lots of
small and big RW-formations, accuracy and style, 8-way CRW, slow motion
openings, funny landings on a driving hay-wagon, right in the middle of a
Bavarian town, in a lake and in a river. Furthermore, we see Herbert Gillmannīs
legendary low altitude jumps (200 ft / 70 m) and para-sailing at the Lago di
Garda.
The cameras were mounted not only on the cameramanīs helmet, but also
on the legs, arms and belly of the jumpers and on the struts and body of the
airplanes. Last not least the tape shows 6 remarkable shorts: The Olympic Tower
Leap (Munich), 69-ft-Bridge Jumping, The Bridge Leap (first BASE jump in Germany
from the Kochertal-Bridge), Bavarian jump, slope soaring (with square
parachutes) in Switzerland and CRW extra.
